  16. lymphoma; in Lexington, Massachusetts. Tall and good-looking
  17. enough to work as a model while earning his medical degree,
  18. Kritsick acquired a national following through his books and
  19. as a regular contributor of pet-care segments on ABC's Good
  20. Morning America. But last year, after a long, unexplained absence,
  21. Kritsick suddenly revealed to his television audience that he
  22. was gay and that he had AIDS, triggering an outpouring of public
  23. compassion that continued up to his death.
